With four styling chairs and a couple of manicuristas, Salon de Rose opened its doors on November 1974 at the then Magellan International Hotel in Cebu City. The company’s founder, Rosario Lim, who is very passionate about beauty and good grooming, wanted a salon that would cater to her and other Cebuano women’s beauty needs at a time when looking for good quality salons in Cebu was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Salon de Rose easily captured the hearts of locals, as well as visitors to Cebu that in 1977, the salon opened another branch in Davao City. Mrs. Lim believes that going to the salon is supposed to be a relaxing experience and, after realizing that there were a lot of clients from Mindanao who fly in to Cebu just to avail of the salon’s services, an out-of-town branch became a necessity.

In just a short span of time, Salon de Rose became a byword in beauty and grooming in Cebu City. In 1978, the salon had to transfer its operations in a building along Osmena Boulevard to accommodate more clients and to give better service. To put premium to its clients, the salon pioneered in using good quality products, as well as quality services. Salon de Rose was one of the first Cebu-based salons that introduced the use of the now very popular Kerastase Hair Care products. Salon de Rose also invested on the training of its staff, not just here in the country, but in other countries, as well to make sure that the salon is abreast in the latest trends in the beauty business. Over the years, Salon de Rose’s client-base grew even more and the management, realizing that beauty is a booming industry, wanted to be in the forefront. Thus, Salon de Rose opened more branches in and out of Cebu.

Being true to its commitment of providing the best and the latest when it comes to beauty and good grooming, Salon de Rose introduced Day Spa facilities at its Ayala Center Cebu branch in October 2003. The Day Spa features various world-class facilities and its staff were trained at well-known beauty and skincare institutions like the Chiva-som Academy in Thailand and the Guinot Institut Paris, a popular skincare brand in Europe. Salon de Rose continues to bring beauty and grooming services closer to its clients. The salon chain continues to grow as it recently opened a new branch at the Gaisano Fiesta Mall in Tabunok, Talisay City and at the Mactan Marina Mall in Lapu-Lapu City. From a small business of four styling chairs and a few manicuristas, Salon de Rose has grown with Cebu, and the country through time. Rosario Lim’s dream and passion of making women look and feel beautiful has made Salon de Rose one of the country’s leaders in beauty and skincare.

Today, Salon de Rose continues to provide its clients topnotch products and services and a testament to this is the continued patronage of some clients who have grown with the salon. When visiting a Salon de Rose branch anywhere in the country, it is a pleasant scene to see a whole family – grandparents, parents and their children – waiting for their turn at the various services offered at the salon. With the best quality products, the best quality services, highly trained, qualified and welcoming staff – Salon de Rose is truly the home of good grooming, beauty, hair care and skincare.
